Gentle/beginning yoga classes are designed for people with limited mobility or those recovering from injuries and/or illnesses. Classes are structured after Integral Yoga classes as taught by Swami Satchidananda, which include chanting, asana (postures), pranayama (breath work), and meditation. Often, restorative poses are used, which incorporate props such as blankets, blocks, knee bolsters, and sandbags. Some classes are taught sitting in chairs; some involve all floor postures; and some are more challenging with standing poses and deep stretches.
Class is 1 hour and 15 minutes. It is held on Wednesdays from 10:00 AM-11:15 PM. Upon registration, you will receive a confirmation, and then just before the class you will be emailed a Zoom link with a password to access the class. Participants will need to have Zoom downloaded on their computer (https://zoom.us/) or on their phone (found in the app store).
